The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
massie has a takedown stuffed.
Kazzaro shoots in for a double leg but massie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

massie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
massie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kazzaro's waist but Kazzaro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing massie off to one side.

massie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

massie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

massie shoots in looking for a takedown. Kazzaro tries to sprawl out of it but massie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kazzaro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by massie or perhaps it was just good defense by Kazzaro which made him look bad.
Kazzaro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. massie tries to avoid it but Kazzaro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag massie to the ground. massie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kazzaro closes the distance looking for a takedown. massie stuffs it but Kazzaro still has hold of him. Kazzaro picks massie up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Kazzaro slams massie to the floor and that's really hurt massie - he doesn't know where he is! Kazzaro throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
