The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janssen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bombada.
Bombada thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bombada fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Bombada works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

The fighters circling - Bombada throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bombada throws a hook to the side of Janssen's head but Janssen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Janssen.

Janssen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bombada's waist but Bombada gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Janssen off to one side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bombada enables Janssen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bombada manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Janssen has gone for a leg lock! Bombada slips out almost immediately though and dives into Janssen's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janssen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Janssen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bombada is looking to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
