Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Dalmore as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins gets tackled into the cage by Rua. Rua maintains the clinch.
Jenkins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rua just stands there and leans against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Jenkins tries to pull guard but Rua holds him up against the cage and eventually Jenkins drops back down to his feet.

Rua has Jenkins pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rua pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jenkins tumbling to the mat - Rua dives into Jenkins's guard.
Rua wants to pass the guard but Jenkins is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenkins wants to sweep here but Rua controlling him for the moment.

Rua stands up and waves to Jenkins to follow him.
Jenkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rua is fending him off so far but Jenkins persists. Nope, Rua circles away and we're back to standing.

Jenkins tries to bench press Rua off him but Rua keeps the position.

Rua looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Rua decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jenkins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rua dives in and grabs Jenkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.

Rua seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyson Rua.

Rua feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rua rushes Jenkins and presses him up against the cage.
Rua tries to work over Jenkins's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Rua has picked Jenkins up - he's going for a ride! Rua dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jenkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rua's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rua's back!

Rua stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rua wants it to stay on the feet.
Jenkins is breathing heavily.
Rua shoots in and drives through. Jenkins sprawls well.
Rua ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jenkins backwards.

Rua has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jenkins uses from the top position.

Jenkins throws a jab but it's blocked by Rua.

Rua feints and as Jenkins raises his hands in defense, Rua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rua drops back looking for a leg! Jenkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jenkins manages to kick Rua off! Rua jumps back into Jenkins's guard.

Jenkins misses with a takedown attempt

and Rua counters with a takedown into side control.
Jenkins parries the strikes from Rua easily there. Rua is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jenkins to escape.
Jenkins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jenkins is refusing to be controlled, as Rua sits in half guard.

Rua throws a head kick but Jenkins moves out of range.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rua is looking to clinch but Jenkins is avoiding it.

Jenkins takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Paul Jenkins has been cut.
Rua is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jenkins can do to turn this around?

Rua lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Rua wants to stand up but Jenkins has a hold of him and won't allow it.
