Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Masti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nestor Makhno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Nestor Makhno enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Masti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nestor Makhno!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makhno keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Masti moves in looking to clinch but Makhno pushes him off.
Dave Masti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masti has his takedown stuffed

and Makhno counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Makhno.
Masti has a closed guard, preventing Makhno from standing up.
Masti thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Masti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Makhno can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Makhno trying to control the position from guard on top but Masti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Makhno not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nestor Makhno was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Masti shoots in but no luck this time.

Makhno shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Makhno was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Masti is squirming around, avoiding Makhno's attempts to control the action.

Masti really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
BOOM! Makhno connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Makhno looking to control but Masti is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Masti tries to hold on but Makhno pushes him away.

Masti is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Nestor Makhno dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Masti fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Masti closes the distance and clinches up with Makhno, looking for a takedown. Masti pushes Makhno against the cage but Makhno circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Masti wants to clinch.
Makhno displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Masti.

Masti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Masti fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Makhno shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Makhno is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Makhno wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masti keeps working.

Makhno might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Masti kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Nestor Makhno has got the better of the ground game so far.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Masti throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makhno scoring with strikes but Masti is staying in there.
Makhno wants to control the pace but Masti is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nestor Makhno showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Masti gets caught napping as Makhno dives in and scores a takedown. Masti manages to retain guard.

Makhno can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Masti is looking to escape.
Makhno lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Makhno prevents Masti from getting the reversal.
