Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rashid Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Vovkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Vovkov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vovkov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Magomedov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vovkov as he avoids it easily.
Magomedov connects with a jab.

It looks like Vlad Vovkov has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Vovkov or perhaps it was just good defense by Magomedov which made him look bad.
Vovkov stuffs the takedown.
Magomedov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vovkov swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashid Magomedov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vovkov shoots in for a takedown but Magomedov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Magomedov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vovkov's waist but Vovkov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magomedov off to one side.

Magomedov is trying to control. Vovkov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magomedov is taking a breather. Vovkov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Magomedov is trying to control. Vovkov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rashid Magomedov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Magomedov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Magomedov tries to clinch up but Vovkov circles away and keeps his distance.
Magomedov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Magomedov tightens his grip and picks Vovkov up, before dumping him to the ground. Vovkov manages to land in guard.

Vovkov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Magomedov has his hands clasped together but Vovkov extends an breaks Magomedov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Vovkov.
