Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick van Greeven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van Greeven comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Waits - Telephone call from Istanbul. Ward has chosen People are strange by The Doors as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dick van Greeven is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward ducks under a wild hook from van Greeven.
van Greeven throws a series of punches but Ward moves out of range.

Ward drops van Greeven with a beautiful combination! van Greeven stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ward is looking for the KO!

It looks like Dick van Greeven has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ward tries to clinch there but van Greeven circles away.
van Greeven misses with an uppercut. Ward saw that one coming.
van Greeven tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ward was well out of range. Poor timing from van Greeven.
Ward fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ward pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Ward is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and van Greeven defends well.
Ward wants to stand but van Greeven is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
van Greeven throws a big right hand that misses.
van Greeven will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ward working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. van Greeven doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. van Greeven manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dick van Greeven has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ward tries to bum rush van Greeven with a series of wild strikes but van Greeven uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ward throws a jab but it's blocked by van Greeven.
Ward shoots in looking for a takedown. van Greeven tries to sprawl out of it but Ward keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. van Greeven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

van Greeven tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ward sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten van Greeven somewhat.

van Greeven ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Ward feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits van Greevens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ward fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches van Greeven on the side of the head.

van Greeven closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - van Greeven lands in his opponent's guard.

Ward scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ward takes a swing at van Greeven's ribcage but misses.
Ward stuffs the takedown.
Sloppy strikes from Ward. Those never looked like landing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ward wants to stand and escape but van Greeven is having none of it.

Ward feints and as van Greeven raises his hands in defense, Ward changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

van Greeven dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
van Greeven looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well.
van Greeven looks to land a right hand but Ward moved out of range.
Ward catches van Greeven with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ward tries to land a front kick but van Greeven steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ward lands a big right hook! van Greeven looks hurt but is still standing! Ward lands a left jab and another right hook! This time van Greeven falls down and Ward dives in with a huge hammer fist! van Greeven's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Ward runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
