Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Borgia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Reary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Reary!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reary shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Borgia pinned against the cage. Borgia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Patrick Reary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Borgia lands a two punch combo.
Borgia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reary.
Reary shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Joe Borgia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Reary.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Borgia and Reary goes tumbling to the canvas! Borgia follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Reary tries to score with some ground and pound. Borgia controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Reary sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Borgia is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borgia gets caught napping as Reary dives in and scores a takedown. Borgia manages to retain guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reary changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Borgia tries to avoid it but Reary manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Borgia to the ground. Borgia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reary takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Borgia drops Reary with a right and a left! Borgia comes rushing in but Reary regains his composure and manages to keep Borgia in guard.

Borgia wants to stand but Reary is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reary striking off his back but it's not causing Borgia any problems.
Reary lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Borgia!

Borgia blocking the ground and pound.
Reary punching from mount but Borgia doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Borgia holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Reary tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Reary is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Borgia can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Reary breaks from Borgia's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Reary lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Reary has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Borgia's face.
Reary sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Reary has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Borgia is bucking up trying to escape but Reary cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Reary throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Borgia is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Joe Borgia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Patrick Reary is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Poor strikes thrown by Reary there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
