Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marteau Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas moves into range and clinches up with Pierre.

Pierre gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Thomas regains guard.
Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thomas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Thomas is retaining full guard.
Pierre pushing down on Thomas's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Thomas is looking for a sweep. Pierre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pierre tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierre seems to be working for a kimura but Thomas defends the submission attempt.
Pierre moves into full mount! Thomas won't be happy about that!

Pierre working for a guillotine from mount but Thomas is in no mood to give up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thomas can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pierre looking to secure an arm triangle but Thomas defends it well.
Thomas is working to get back to half guard.

Pierre is working for a guillotine from mount but Thomas frees his head quite easily.

Pierre is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Thomas has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Thomas is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pierre pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Thomas is trying to stand up.
Pierre could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pierre avoids the attempt from Thomas to control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pierre seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Thomas is holding on tight.
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pierre working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Thomas turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Pierre off and cradles Thomas's limp body as Pierre celebrates with his corner.
