Loco has chosen IM & GMS - Arabian Knights On Mescaline as his entrance music. David Douillet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douillet misses the jab.

Douillet scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loco actively working from the bottom here.
Douillet winds up and cracks Loco with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Loco is looking for a sweep. Douillet is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Loco wants to control but Douillet is keeping busy.
Douillet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Loco tries to get to full guard but Douillet has control of the leg.

Douillet with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Loco is looking for a triangle but Douillet pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Douillet wants to control from the top but Loco keeps moving.

Douillet got a little sloppy there for a moment and Loco has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Douillet has managed to get both his arms back between Loco's legs - danger averted.

Loco wants to control but Douillet is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Douillet tries to pass the half guard into mount. Loco knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Douillet is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Loco is just riding it out for now. Douillet eventually gives up the hold.

Loco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Douillet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Loco had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Douillet defends it easily.
Douillet is pushing down on Loco's leg trying to pass to half guard. Loco is fighting to maintain full guard but Douillet has managed to sneak the leg through.
Loco is trying to control but Douillet manages to pass to mount!

Douillet wants to control the pace but Loco is squirming around nicely.

Douillet lands a heavy elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Loco slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Douillet seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Douillet wants to free his trapped foot but Loco is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Douillet thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Loco's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Douillet shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Loco is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Loco tries to hold on but Douillet pushes him away.

Douillet looking to control but Loco is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Loco bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Loco looking to sit in guard and control but Douillet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Douillet is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Loco to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Loco shrugs it off.
Loco is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Loco is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Loco wants to control but Douillet is having none of it.

Loco is squirming around, avoiding Douillet's attempts to control the action.

Douillet cracks Loco with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douillet is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Loco can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Loco looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Douillet is fending him off so far but Loco persists. Nope, Douillet circles away and we're back to standing.
Loco wants to clinch up but Douillet keeps it at a distance.
Douillet tries to score a power double leg takedown but Loco sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Douillet somewhat.

David Douillet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manuel Loco.
Loco tries to score a body lock takedown but Douillet shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Loco is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Loco has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Douillet is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Loco has a takedown stuffed.
Loco staying out of range there.

Douillet shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Loco but Loco pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Loco shoots in but Douillet avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Douillet throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Loco's waist but Loco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Douillet off to one side.
Douillet shoots for a takedown but Loco saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Loco gets a clinch.
Manuel Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Loco wants the takedown. Douillet is fighting it off but Loco persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Douillet's guard against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Douillet manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Loco is defended easily by Douillet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Douillet sizes up Loco with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Manuel Loco.
I think Douillet has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
