The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera thuds his shin into the meat of Ck's side.
Vera moves to clinch but Ck breaks away
enabling Ck to counter with a crisp jab.
Ck moves out of range of the body kick from Vera.

Vera has taken the fight to the clinch.

Ck's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vera tries a head kick but it misses.

The fighters circle momentarily. Ck darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ck throws a right and a left that both miss.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vera takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Ck lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ck takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ck looks to land a left hand but Vera moved out of range nicely.
Michael Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ck lands a nice hook to Vera's body. Vera takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ck catches Vera napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Vera to the canvas!

Ck is looking to work some ground and pound but Vera has wrist control.
Oh Vera is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ck working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Vera scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Ck manages to mount him!
Vera seems to have got his legs back now.

Ck throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Vera because Ck loaded up on that one.
Vera wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ck.

Ck unloads with some shots from mount but Vera bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
