The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruud throws a leg kick which misses Tkaczyk's front leg but catches the back leg as Tkaczyk tries to avoid it.
Ruud is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tkaczyk's half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ruud in particular looking to stall.
Ruud works his foot free and advances to mount.

Ruud seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tkaczyk for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ruud cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ruud quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ruud but it's paid off an Tkaczyk is forced to tap! Nice work by Ruud.
