Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuki Nakai!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nakai drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nakai blocks the strikes from Griffin.

Nakai decides to stand back up. Nakai steps back and let's Griffin get back to his feet.
Chris Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin shoots and misses
and Nakai counters with an outside leg kick.
Griffin fails with the takedown

and Nakai counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Griffin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Griffin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nakai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nakai gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Nakai counters with a head kick that drops Griffin - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!


Griffin is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nakai working the head and body with strikes.
Oh Griffin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nakai stands up and beckons Griffin to join him on the feet.
Griffin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Nakai counters with a double leg. Griffin bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... Nakai follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Yuki Nakai!
