Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Da Mian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Strikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Strikes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Da Mian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Mian.
Strikes tries to clinch there but Mian circles away.
Strikes moves in looking to clinch but Mian pushes him off.
Mian shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Strikes sprawls well. Strikes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mian gets slowly back to his feet.
Mian gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Strikes counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Strikes moves to clinch but Mian breaks away
and Mian counters with a three punch combo that has Strikes backing up. Strikes nods at Mian to acknowledge the strikes.
Mian misses with a series of wild punches.
Strikes connects with a single shot there.
Strikes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Strikes misses with a wild body shot.
Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch but Mian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Strikes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mian.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Da Mian. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Strikes lands with a straight right. Mian didn't see that one coming.
Mian avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mian.
Carlos Strikes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strikes looks to score with a jab to the body but Mian is just out of range.

and Mian counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mian.

Strikes looking for a guillotine here but Mian defends easily.
Mian trying to control the position from guard on top but Strikes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mian is fighting to break Strikes's control of his arms but Strikes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mian stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strikes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Strikes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mian is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Da Mian just wasn't active enough.
Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch but Mian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Strikes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Strikes wants it to stay on the feet.
Strikes moves to clinch but Mian breaks away
and Mian counters with a two punch combo.
Mian shoots in for a double leg but Strikes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mian avoids the head kick by Strikes.
Strikes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Strikes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Strikes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mian if he has to take too many more of those.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strikes throws a body punch but Mian moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carlos Strikes will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mian misses with a few strikes there.
Nice body punch from Mian.
Strikes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Da Mian is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Strikes throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mian.
Strikes slaps away a takedown attempt from Mian, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Strikes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Carlos Strikes seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Strikes gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mian.

Strikes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mian shoots and misses
and Strikes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Mian uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Strikes.
Strikes is looking to clinch.
Mian has a takedown stuffed.

Strikes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mian.
A punch lands to the side of Mian 's head but he takes it in his stride.

so Mian counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mian tries to free his leg and advance position but Strikes is retaining full guard.

Mian throwing strikes from guard but Strikes blocks nicely.
Mian seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mian with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Mian is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Strikes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Strikes has escaped and now he's on top!
Mian pulls Strikes in close to prevent any damage.

Strikes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mian is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mian had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Strikes defends it easily.
Strikes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mian is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mian working a defensive guard but Strikes passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Carlos Strikes will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Horrible takedown by Mian or perhaps it was just good defense by Strikes which made him look bad.
Strikes misses the shot to the body.
Strikes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Mian circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mian throws a hook but Strikes blocks it.
Some bone on bone action there as Mian checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Mian closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Strikes to the mat! Strikes manages to get full guard.

Strikes pulls Mian in close to prevent any damage.
Mian stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strikes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Strikes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carlos Strikes.
Strikes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mian throws a series of punches but Strikes moves out of range.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Da Mian.
I think Strikes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
