The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreg fails with a takedown attempt.
Kreg lands a right hook to the body.
Kreg shoots in looking for a takedown but Pinheiro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kreg's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kreg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kreg uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pinheiro.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pinheiro can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Kreg.

Pinheiro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kreg was covering up waiting for the punch and Pinheiro finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pinheiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kreg has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pinheiro has managed to get both his arms back between Kreg's legs - danger averted.

Kreg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pinheiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kreg has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pinheiro off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kreg lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pinheiro has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pinheiro and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kreg shoots in but no luck this time.

Pinheiro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kreg sprawls well initially but Pinheiro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kreg avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pinheiro.
Pinheiro is nestled in close to Kreg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kreg has one foot on Pinheiro's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Pinheiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kreg tries to avoid it but Pinheiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kreg to the ground. Kreg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rico Pinheiro will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pinheiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kreg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kreg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pinheiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kreg kicks Pinheiro off and gets to his feet.

A jab from Pinheiro finds it's way through Kreg's defenses.

Rico Pinheiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pinheiro drops back looking for a leg! Kreg is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kreg manages to kick Pinheiro off! Pinheiro jumps back into Kreg's guard.

Kreg has his feet on Pinheiro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

I would just about give that final round to Rico Pinheiro.
I've got Pinheiro winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
