Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, O Shea Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Hodges!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots in but Hodges avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A punch combination from Hodges misses.
Hodges attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hodges is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.
Jackson with a poor takedown
and Jackson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hodges jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hodges's guard.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson trying to control but Hodges is working from the bottom.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jackson throwing strikes but missing.
Jackson postures up and lands a big shot to Hodges's brow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hodges looking for a sweep. Not yet Hodges, not yet.
Jackson advances position into side control!
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hodges dodges the ground and pound from Jackson.
Hodges wants to control but Jackson postures up.
Jackson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hodges down.
Jackson is staying tight to Hodges's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Hodges managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jackson.
Jackson throws a strike aimed at the side of Hodges's head but Hodges avoids it well.
Jackson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jackson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hodges will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hodges tries to control but Jackson manages to take his back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Jackson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hodges for as long as he can get away with.
Jackson scores with punches from the back.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Jackson. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Jackson keeps control of the position as Hodges tries to break free.
Jackson punishes Hodges with strikes from the back mount.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Jackson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Jackson lands with a hammerfist to the side of Hodges's head.
Hodges covers up after that shot from Jackson.

Hodges is rocked!
Jackson throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Hodges!
Hodges is still in real trouble! Can Jackson finish him?
Jackson connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Hodges to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hodges gets cracked with a huge elbow and he's out cold! Possibly KO of the night from the back? Unusual but possible!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). O Shea Jackson!
