The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix throws the left hand but Garcia avoids the punch easily.
Garcia fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Matrix looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Matrix swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matrix blocks the body kick.
Matrix tries a head kick but it misses.
Matrix will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Garcia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Matrix manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garcia fakes the leg kick and cracks Matrix in the body.
Garcia fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Garcia displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Matrix.

and Garcia counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Matrix takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Garcia scores with a head kick. Matrix tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Garcia moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Garcia avoids the body shot from Matrix.
Garcia changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Garcia tries a head kick but it misses.

Oh Matrix is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Garcia lands a big head kick that sends Matrix tumbling to the mat! Garcia takes a step backwards and waves Matrix back to his feet - he wants the finish!
John Matrix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia throws a leg kick which misses Matrix's front leg but catches the back leg as Matrix tries to avoid it.
Matrix tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Garcia circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Matrix drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Garcia follows Matrix to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
