The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amanen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Amanen regains guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Amanen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Amanen manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Amanen's guard.
Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Amanen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Amanen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

Jones looking for a guillotine here but Amanen defends easily.

Jones has his feet on Amanen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
A head kick misses from Amanen.
Amanen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jari Amanen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Amanen slips a jab and a cross from Jones.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Amanen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jones.

Amanen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Amanen looks a forlorn figure.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jari Amanen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
