Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryobun Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masahura Yakisoba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masahura Yakisoba!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi throws a front kick that sends Yakisoba stumbling back into the ropes.
Yakisoba throws a right and a left that both miss.

Akagi shoots in and bounces Yakisoba off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Akagi tries to free his leg and advance position but Yakisoba is retaining full guard.

Akagi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Yakisoba has his foot on Akagi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Akagi works his way back into a safe position though.

Akagi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yakisoba swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Akagi wants to get up but he can't break Yakisoba's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Akagi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Yakisoba lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Masahura Yakisoba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Akagi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yakisoba sprawls well initially but Akagi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Akagi's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Akagi is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Yakisoba has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Akagi is looking for the choke from the back position but Yakisoba is controlling his hands well.

Akagi is cranking Yakisoba's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Yakisoba! He's tightened the choke and Yakisoba is tapping out!
