Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Rienstien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glen Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oleg Rienstien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Glen Davis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis tries to clinch there but Rienstien circles away.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Rienstien showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davis.
Rienstien has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Davis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Davis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Davis misses with a double jab.
Rienstien gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rienstien really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Davis lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
No luck for Rienstien with that takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davis misses with a low kick as Rienstien jumps back.
Rienstien will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rienstien fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Davis to the ground. Rienstien is now in Davis's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Davis has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rienstien off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rienstien fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Rienstien. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rienstien closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rienstien moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Davis looks gassed!

Rienstien shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Davis counters with a one-two to the body.
Davis darts in trying to clinch

so Rienstien counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rienstien scoring with some ground and pound.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rienstien throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Davis wants to stand and escape but instead Rienstien has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Rienstien wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
Rienstien lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rienstien throwing strikes but missing.

Rienstien postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rienstien, into his guard.

Rienstien has Davis pulled in close to control his posture.
Rienstien's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rienstien works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rienstien controlling the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rienstien tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Oleg Rienstien.
Davis throws a combination that misses

and Rienstien counters with a shoot takedown. Davis fights it but they end up in guard.
Rienstien is looking to work some ground and pound but Davis has wrist control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rienstien postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Davis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rienstien is controlling him.

Rienstien wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rienstien's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Davis is breathing heavily.

Rienstien will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Davis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rienstien working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Davis's head.
Rienstienis looking to pass into half guard but Davis pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Davis is in guard.
Davis postures up in Rienstien's guard and throws a big left but Rienstien blocks it.
Rienstien looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Rienstien trying to keep a closed guard but Davis is proving a slippery customer.
Davis is fighting to break Rienstien's control of his arms but Rienstien is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Davis with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rienstien manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Davis manages to get himself to full guard.
Rienstien throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


The fighters circle momentarily. Davis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Davis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Rienstien counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Davis!
Rienstien looking to finish Davis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Davis!
Davis wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rienstien.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rienstien raining down shots from the mount!
Rienstien is landing with some decent strikes but Davis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Davis is rocked!
Rienstien loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Davis scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Rienstien land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Rienstien stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oleg Rienstien!
