The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCallister to the mat! McCallister manages to get full guard.

Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

McCallister feints and then cracks Johnson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Johnson down.

Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCallister circles away quickly and effectively.
McCallister closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McCallister throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and McCallister finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McCallister has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.

Johnson wants to advance to full mount but McCallister doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McCallister knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
McCallister controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

McCallister wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
