PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andres Bonifacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aku Zoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aku Zoku!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Zoku with that takedown attempt.
Andres Bonifacio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zoku closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zoku lands in his opponent's guard.

Zoku slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bonifacio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aku Zoku hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Let's hope that Zoku has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aku Zoku hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bonifacio misses with the combination.
Bonifacio stuffs the takedown attempt from Zoku. Zoku gets slowly back to his feet.
Zoku throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bonifacio's waist but Bonifacio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zoku off to one side.
Andres Bonifacio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aku Zoku.
Zoku fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bonifacio avoids it really well and circles away.

Bonifacio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Zoku lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Bonifacio! Zoku sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Bonifacio and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
