Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nestor Makhno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Coutour!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makhno fails with an attempt to clinch.
Makhno shoots in for a takedown but Coutour shows good takedown defense.
Coutour tries to score a power double leg takedown but Makhno sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Coutour somewhat.

Coutour pushes Makhno up against the cage in a clinch.
Makhno is trying to break the clinch but Coutour has him pressed against the cage.
Coutour gets underhooks to prevent Makhno's takedown attempt.
Coutour has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Coutour's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Makhno shoots in but Coutour avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nestor Makhno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coutour slaps away a takedown attempt from Makhno, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Coutour closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Makhno did well to prevent Coutour getting side control.

Coutour is looking for a kimura here.
Makhno is trying to maintain the position but Coutour is very close to passing his half guard.
Coutour is pressing down on Makhno's thigh, looking to free his foot. Makhno is holding on for now.
Coutour is controlling the pace.

Makhno is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Coutour pulls his head out easily.

Coutour is looking to stall here but Makhno recovers full guard.
Coutour throws a strike but Makhno rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Coutour wants to sweep but no luck.

Makhno gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Coutour misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Makhno is defended easily by Coutour.
Makhno shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Makhno closes this distance looking for a takedown but Coutour circles away.
Makhno is breathing heavily.
Makhno fails to land the takedown.

Makhno defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Coutour.
Coutour throws a head kick that misses.
Coutour leaves Makhno with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Coutour misses with a jab, cross combination.

Makhno gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Makhno has his foot on Coutour's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coutour works his way back into a safe position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Coutour dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Makhno takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Makhno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Coutour was covering up waiting for the punch and Makhno finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Makhno trying to control the position from guard on top but Coutour is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Coutour wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Makhno with a nice head shot there.

Coutour keeping moving, preventing Makhno from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Makhno thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Makhno wants to control from the top but Coutour keeps moving.
Coutour is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Coutour really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Makhno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Coutour wants to control position but Makhno is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Coutour here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Nestor Makhno!
