Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ice Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tex Ranger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Penthouse. Ranger has chosen Eaten by Bloodbath as his entrance music. The key to victory for Ice Man has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man misses with a lunging right hand
and Ranger counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Man thinking.
Ranger cracks Man with an open hand slap.
Man misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ranger.
Man slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ranger takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ranger misses with a shot to the body
and Man counters with a stiff right hand.
Man throws a leg kick but Ranger sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Man rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ranger moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ranger takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Man ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ranger moves away.

Ranger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Man connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ranger scrambles back to his feet.
Ranger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Man sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Man drops Ranger with a beautiful combination! Ranger stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Man is looking for the KO!

Ranger is rocked!
Ranger chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Man can pounce on him.
Ranger is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him?
Man throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Ranger throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Man counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ranger throws a body punch but Man moves out of range.
Ranger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ranger moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ice Man dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ranger seems to have recovered his senses.
Sloppy strikes from Man. Those never looked like landing.
Man looks to land a combination but Ranger avoids it well.

Man trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ranger manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Ranger prevents Man from getting back to his feet.

Ranger is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ranger wants to pass the guard but Man is keeping the position.
Man is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ranger pushes down on Man's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ranger wants to free his trapped foot but Man is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Ranger is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Man doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ranger.

Ranger is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Ranger is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ranger is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Man won't allow Ranger to pass to mount.

Ranger wants to work for an arm triangle but Man is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ranger is taking a breather. Man says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ranger is looking to stall here but Man recovers full guard.
Ranger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Man swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ranger postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Man is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ranger, into his guard.
Man would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ranger keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ranger looking for a sweep. Not yet Ranger, not yet.
Ranger is trying to control the position but Man postures up.

Tex Ranger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ranger misses with a series of wild punches.

Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ranger.
Ranger is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Ranger tries for a takedown but Man sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ice Man.
