The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate throws a head kick but Belfort moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belfort is defended easily by Tate.
Belfort throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tate's waist but Tate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belfort off to one side.
Belfort shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tate sprawls well. Tate wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Belfort gets slowly back to his feet.
Munamies Tate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicolas Belfort.
Belfort takes a head kick and keeps coming.

It looks like Nicolas Belfort has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tate closes the distance but Belfort moves to the side

and Belfort counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tate won't be happy with that.

Belfort wants to control but Tate is keeping him busy.

Tate wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tate tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Belfort sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You get the feeling that Tate really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tate tries to clinch but Belfort moves out of range.

Tate connects with a leg kick. Belfort looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Belfort takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Belfort gets tackled into the cage by Tate. Tate maintains the clinch.

Tate escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belfort is breathing heavily.
A head kick from Tate lands but Belfort takes it in his stride.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate scores with a head kick. Belfort tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Whack! Tate lands a heavy head kick that drops Belfort. The ref tackles Tate to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Belfort was done.
