PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Jarvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarvis comes into the arena with Notorious B.I.G Ft Ratatat - Party and Bullshit blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Jarvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarvis stuffs the takedown attempt from Henderson. Henderson gets slowly back to his feet.
Jarvis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Henderson throws a right hand that Jarvis ducks under and follows up with a left that Jarvis also avoids with ease.
Jarvis fails with a takedown attempt.

Henderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jarvis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Henderson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jarvis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jarvis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jarvis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henderson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jarvis wants to pass the guard but Henderson is keeping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Henderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jarvis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jarvis is looking to advance position but Henderson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Henderson avoids the attempt from Jarvis to control.
Jarvis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jarvis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jarvis trying to control but Henderson is working from the bottom.
Henderson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jarvis is controlling him.
Henderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jarvis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jarvis drops back looking for a leg! Henderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Henderson manages to kick Jarvis off! Jarvis jumps back into Henderson's guard.

Jarvis gets to his feet - Henderson follows without any prompting.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jarvis.
Jarvis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Jarvis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jarvis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jarvis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Henderson tries to circle away but Jarvis has him pinned against the cage.

Henderson breaks from the clinch.
Henderson looks for a takedown but Jarvis sprawls well.
Josh Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jarvis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Henderson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jarvis.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jarvis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Henderson but Henderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Jarvis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Henderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Jarvis.

Jarvis has closed the distance and engaged Henderson in a clinch.

Jarvis has hold of one of Henderson's legs. Henderson is fighting the takedown attempt but Jarvis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Jarvis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Jarvis prevents Henderson from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jarvis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Henderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jarvis stands and throws Henderson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jarvis controlling the position.
Jarvis throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Henderson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jarvis connects with a decent elbow.
Jarvis wants to control but Henderson is keeping him busy.

Henderson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Henderson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Jarvis fails with the takedown.
Henderson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Henderson is breathing heavily.
Jarvis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Henderson throws a shot to the body.
Jarvis throws a left and a right that both miss

and Henderson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Henderson throwing strikes but missing.

Jarvis is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Henderson rolls with it to try and escape but Jarvis cranks on the arm and Henderson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
