PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by ac/dc- war machine. Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eskmo - Cloudlight. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with an uppercut
and Connor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jones dives in and grabs Connor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Connor jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Connor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jones throws an off balance right hand
and Connor counters with a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Connor circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones lands with a shot to the body.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a series of punches but Connor moves out of range.

Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Connor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Connor is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jones.

It looks like Scott Connor has been cut.
Connor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.
Jones misses with a double jab
and Connor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones looks gassed!

Jones gets caught flat footed, as Connor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Connor is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
Connor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Connor with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Connor thows a big elbow that misses.

Jones is working an open guard so Connor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Connor, as that shot connected.
Jones is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Connor moves out of range as Jones strikes.
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Connor.
Connor avoids a punch combination nicely.
Connor keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.
Jones moves out of range as Connor throws a body kick.
Jones misses with a jab to the body
letting Connor counter with a right hand.
Connor is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Connor was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Donk. Connor catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
Jones looks for a takedown but Connor sprawls well.
Scott Connor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Jones.
Jones scores with a jab to the body.

Connor takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
David Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Connor moves into range and connects with a jab.
Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and Connor comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Jones stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Connor is on him like rabid pit bull! Jones slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
