PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Dolson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagdiyev comes to the ring accompanied by Mamaliga. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Dolson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagdiyev throws a left and a right that both miss

and Dolson moves into the clinch.
Sagdiyev looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Sagdiyev is trying to break the clinch but Dolson has him pressed against the ropes.
Sagdiyev tries to pull guard but Dolson holds him up against the ropes and eventually Sagdiyev drops back down to his feet.
Sagdiyev lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dolson backwards.
Sagdiyev is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Dolson breaks from the clinch.
Borat Sagdiyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sagdiyev scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

A nice right hand lands inside from Dolson.
Dolson is trying to push Sagdiyev away but Sagdiyev has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Sagdiyev is trying to break the clinch but Dolson is controlling him.

Sagdiyev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sagdiyev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dolson is fending him off so far but Sagdiyev persists. Nope, Dolson circles away and we're back to standing.

Sagdiyev has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dolson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Sagdiyev feints and as Dolson raises his hands in defense, Sagdiyev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dolson wants to stand but Sagdiyev is controlling the position.

Sagdiyev's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sagdiyev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dolson walks away with a smile on his face. Sagdiyev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Borat Sagdiyev.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sagdiyev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
