Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hollis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hollis comes to the cage accompanied by UGK - Pocket Full of Stones. Cross has chosen The American Dream Song as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that David Cross was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hollis is looking to slow Cross down with leg kicks.
Cross ducks under a wild hook from Hollis.
Cross connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Cross has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hollis.
Hollis throws a body punch but Cross moves out of range.
Hollis keeps Cross at a distance using the push kick.
Hollis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hollis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cross is out of range.
Hollis misses with a low kick.
Hollis stalks Cross and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cross's face. Cross staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hollis moves away.

Hollis throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Hollis looks to land a combination but Cross avoids it well.
Cross ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hollis thows a body shot but no joy.
Cross misses with a hook. Hollis ducked under it nicely.
Hollis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hollis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hollis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cross throws a shot from downtown. Hollis moves away and avoids it.

and Hollis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Cross throws a low kick but Hollis moves out of range easily.
Hollis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cross throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hollis on the side of the head.

Hollis misses with a wild combination.
Hollis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cross doesn't seem bothered though.

Cross fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hollis manages to avoid it.

Cross takes a swing at Hollis's ribcage but misses.
Good leg kick by Hollis there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hollis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hollis throws the left hand but Cross avoids the punch easily.

Hollis throws a front kick aimed at Cross's knee but Cross avoids it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Hollis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cross stuns Hollis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hollis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cross is out of range.
David Cross seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hollis will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Cross throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hollis sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hollis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hollis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cross. That did some damage!
Hollis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Hollis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cross takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hollis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hollis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cross on the side of the head.

and Hollis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cross thinking.

and Cross makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Cross pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hollis tried to score with a low kick but Cross checks it.

Cross with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hollis to score with a decent uppercut.

Hollis throws the kick towards the body but Cross avoids it.

Hollis connects with a right that clearly hurt Cross. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Hollis proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Cross collapses and taps out under the pressure!
