The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Couture.
Couture has his takedown stuffed

and Robinson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Couture's guard.

Robinson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Couture looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Couture looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Couture!
Robinson tries to escape but Couture is in control.
Robinson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Couture is working for a kimura but Robinson is defending it quite comfortably.

Couture drops back looking for a leg! Robinson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Robinson manages to kick Couture off! Couture jumps back into Robinson's guard.

Couture has gone for a leg lock! Robinson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Couture's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robinson advances position into side control!

Robinson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Robinson is trying to get an arm triangle but Couture is defending well.
Robinson tries to move to mount but Couture blocks the move with his legs.

Robinson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Couture rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Robinson's guard! Nice work there by Couture!
Robinson wants to stand but Couture is controlling the position.

Robinson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Couture defends it easily.
Couture won't allow Robinson to sweep him here.

Couture drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Robinson dives on top into guard.

Robinson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Robinson stands and throws Couture's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Robinson advances to full mount.

Robinson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Couture has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Couture!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture is sitting in close to Robinson's body. Robinson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Couture is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Couture is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Robinson.
