PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gorn Bicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coalman Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorn Bicki had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Coalman Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bicki gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gracie to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bicki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bicki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gracie works over Bicki with some ground and pound from guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bicki is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gracie pushing down on Bicki's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Bicki is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bicki misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bicki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Gracie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gracie is trying to control. Bicki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bicki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bicki is rocked!
Gracie lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Bicki quite badly. Bicki pulls Gracie in close trying to recover. Gracie postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Bicki on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Bicki doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
