The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pur takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Pur with a poor takedown
and Carter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pur shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Kip Pur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pur throws a lazy uppercut

Pur takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Carter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pur manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carter manages to get himself to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pur is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pur drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carter dives on top into guard.

Carter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carl Carter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pur misses with a takedown

and Carter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kip Pur . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pur is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pur looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pur prevents Carter from getting the reversal.
Poor strikes thrown by Pur there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pur looking to isolate an arm here. Carter doesn't see it coming and as Pur extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Pur !
