PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Spaten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spaten comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Check Yo' Self before you Wreck Yo' Self by Ice Cube kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown tries for a takedown but Spaten sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Spaten tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Spaten doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Spaten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Spaten wants to clinch.
Spaten is looking to clinch but Brown is avoiding it.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Spaten rushes Brown and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Brown has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Brown tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spaten smiles and moves away.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up with Spaten, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes Spaten against the ropes but Spaten circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Spaten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Spaten tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Spaten manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brown shoots in and drives through. Spaten sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Spaten. No joy for Brown on that attempt.
Brown throws a head kick but Spaten moves out of range.

Spaten drives through and clinches with Brown against the ropes.
Spaten lands a knee to the body.
Brown is breathing heavily.

Horrible takedown by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Spaten which made him look bad.
Spaten tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Brown manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Brown. No joy for Spaten on that attempt.

Spaten lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spaten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brown avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spaten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spaten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Spaten is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Spaten with a flurry of punches that miss.

Spaten would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Spaten must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Brown is looking to sinch up a triangle. Spaten throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brown's body to avoid the submission. Brown has instead reached around Spaten's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brown arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
