PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buckley Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Szyslak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong comes to the cage accompanied by Russian Roulette. Szyslak has chosen Metallica-Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szyslak thows a body shot but no joy.

Szyslak gets caught napping as Armstrong dives in and scores a takedown. Szyslak manages to retain guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Armstrong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Szyslak is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Armstrong swings around for an armbar but Szyslak sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Armstrong's guard.

Armstrong dives in and grabs Szyslak's left leg, looking for a takedown. Szyslak pushes down on Armstrong's head and hops out.
Szyslak loads up on a big right hand but Armstrong slips the punch.
Armstrong doesn't manage to clinch there - Szyslak circles away.

Armstrong is looking for a kimura but Szyslak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Armstrong to get the leverage.

Szyslak pushes Armstrong off and gets back to his feet.
Buckley Armstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armstrong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Szyslak is fending him off so far but Armstrong persists. Nope, Szyslak circles away and we're back to standing.
Szyslak feints and then cracks Armstrong's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Armstrong down.
Armstrong takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Szyslak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Szyslak wants it to stay on the feet.

Szyslak closes the distance and clinches.
Szyslak digs a right hand into Armstrong's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Armstrong's gas tank.

Szyslak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Szyslak lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Szyslak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Armstrong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Szyslak defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Armstrong.
Szyslak lands a leg kick that knocks Armstrong off balance momentarily.

Szyslak throws a leg kick which misses Armstrong's front leg but catches the back leg as Armstrong tries to avoid it.
Armstrong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Szyslak as he avoids it easily.
Szyslak throws a push kick but Armstrong slaps the foot to one side.
Szyslak fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Szyslak connects with a body shot.
A jab lands there for Szyslak.
Armstrong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Szyslak tries to avoid it but Armstrong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Szyslak to the ground. Szyslak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nick Szyslak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Armstrong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Szyslak pinned against the cage. Szyslak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oh Armstrong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Szyslak lands a nice hook to Armstrong's body. Armstrong takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Szyslak digs a right hand underneath Armstrong's ribcage. Armstrong let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Szyslak throws a pinpoint strike between Armstrong's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Armstrong crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Szyslak scores a great knockout victory!
