Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benetiz moves out of range of the body kick from Gracie.

Gracie shoots in and bounces Benetiz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Benetiz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Gracie stands and steps away. Benetiz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Benetiz finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.

It looks like Rafael Gracie has been cut.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Benetiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Well, if Gracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Benetiz trying to control but Gracie postures up.
Gracie wants to control but Benetiz is keeping him busy.
Benetiz tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Benetiz!
Gracie prevents Benetiz from getting the reversal.
Benetiz stops Gracie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Benetiz is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
Benetiz manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Benetiz, under a barage of strikes from Gracie.

Benetiz shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Benetiz to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Gracie tries to clinch up.
Benetiz throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
