Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Caraan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caraan comes to the cage accompanied by TubThumping(I get Knockdown). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Caraan as Ferguson shoots in.
Ferguson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Caraan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Cedric Caraan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodney Ferguson.

Caraan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ferguson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Caraan has Ferguson in his guard.

Caraan strikes from the bottom but Ferguson uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Caraan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ferguson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Caraan is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson trying to control the action but Caraan is working from the bottom.
Ferguson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Caraan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Caraan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Caraan is pushing Ferguson's head away, looking to escape. Ferguson manages to hold on to the position though.
The referee asks Ferguson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ferguson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Caraan sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Caraan wants to get back to full guard.
Caraan is breathing heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rodney Ferguson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Caraan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ferguson tries for a takedown but Caraan circles away easily
and Caraan counters with a thumping low kick.
Ferguson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ferguson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Caraan counters with a shoot takedown. Ferguson fights it but they end up in guard.

Caraan drops back looking for a leg! Ferguson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferguson manages to kick Caraan off! Caraan jumps back into Ferguson's guard.

Caraan is trying to get an arm triangle but Ferguson is defending well.

Caraan is working to tighten is grip on Ferguson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ferguson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Caraan is really squeezing tight and eventually Ferguson passes out! Caraan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
