Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Hoppus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Hoppus!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoppus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Belfort circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hoppus lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hoppus is looking to clinch but Belfort is avoiding it.
Hoppus tries to clinch but Belfort moves out of range.
Mark Hoppus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Hoppus.
Hoppus lands a head kick. Belfort smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Belfort closes the distance and clinches up with Hoppus, looking for a takedown. Belfort pushes Hoppus against the cage but Hoppus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Belfort stalks Hoppus and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hoppus's face. Hoppus staggers backwards, shaken.
Belfort blocks a head kick by Hoppus.
Belfort closes the distance and clinches up with Hoppus, looking for a takedown. Belfort pushes Hoppus against the cage but Hoppus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hoppus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hoppus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Belfort fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hoppus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoppus takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hoppus tries to clinch but Belfort moves out of range.
Hoppus misses with a head kick.
Belfort fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfort. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hoppus misses with an uppercut.

Hoppus has closed the distance and engaged Belfort in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Belfort escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belfort throws a sloppy head kick

and Hoppus counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hoppus missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Belfort blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hoppus.
Hoppus throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hoppus is looking to pass Belfort's guard but actually Belfort recovers to full guard.
Belfort is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Belfort knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hoppus on the ground.
Belfort wants to get back to his feet but Hoppus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hoppus gets to his feet - Belfort follows without any prompting.
Belfort avoids the head kick by Hoppus.
Belfort takes a kick to the side of the head.
Belfort throws a combination. Hoppus tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Belfort scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hoppus wants to control but Belfort is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoppus wants to get back to full guard.
Belfort trying to control the action but Hoppus is working from the bottom.
Hoppus is trying to control but can't.
Hoppus is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Belfort jumps into side control!
Hoppus is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Belfort has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hoppus is looking for a sweep.
Hoppus looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hoppus takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Hoppus gets caught flat footed, as Belfort shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hoppus wants to get back to his feet but Belfort is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hoppus is trying to control the position but Belfort postures up.
Belfort working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hoppus wants to sweep here but Belfort controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belfort trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hoppus's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoppus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hoppus is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Belfort keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hoppus's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hoppus shoots in and bounces Belfort off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hoppus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hoppus postures up in Belfort's guard and throws a big left but Belfort blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoppus passes Belfort's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hoppus escapes and gets back to his feet.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hoppus.
Hoppus doesn't manage to clinch there - Belfort circles away.
Hoppus wants to clinch.
Hoppus throws a head kick that Belfort semi-blocks.
Hoppus shoots in and drives through. Belfort sprawls well.

Hoppus scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hoppus takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Belfort to pass into mount.

Belfort has left one of his arms exposed and Hoppus doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Belfort screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Hoppus!
