Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Heinz Volker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake has chosen Blitzkrieg Bop as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volker throws a leg kick that misses.
Drake blocks the body kick.
A clash of legs there as Drake blocks the low kick.
Volker motions for Drake to come forward. Volker throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Drake tries a head kick but it misses.
A slow jab from Drake misses its intended target.
Donk. Drake catches Volker right on the button with a cross.
Drake misses with a wild body shot.
Volker throws a body kick that misses.

Drake pushes Volker up against the cage in a clinch.

Drake tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Volker avoids it.

Volker tries to throw a body punch but Drake avoids it by throwing Volker back against the cage.
Drake wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Volker has him pressed against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Volker.

Volker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drake swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Volker lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Volker feints and then cracks Drake's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Drake down.
Volker thumps Drake with a low kick.

Drake drops Volker with a right and a left! Drake comes rushing in but Volker regains his composure and manages to keep Drake in guard.

Volker is rocked!
Drake is looking to work some ground and pound but Volker has wrist control.
Drake tries to free his leg and advance position but Volker is retaining full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Drake's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake won't allow Volker to sweep him here.
Drake cracks Volker with a solid left hand.
Oh Volker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Volker seems to have got his legs back now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Drake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Drake wants to pass the guard but Volker is keeping the position.

Drake is in close to Volker's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Drake throwing strikes but missing.
Drake trying to control but Volker is working from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Drake dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Volker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Drake.
Volker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Volker is looking to score with low kicks.
A punch combination from Drake misses.
Volker moves into range and connects with a jab.
Volker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drake. That did some damage!
Drake lands with a shot to the body.
Drake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Volker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Drake blocks the body kick.
Drake fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Volker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Volker throws a push kick but Drake slaps the foot to one side.
Volker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volker connects with a body shot that sends Drake's belly button to the back.

Volker throws a half hearted mid kick.
Volker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Drake moves away.
Volker tries to land a front kick but Drake steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A low kick from Volker misses
and Drake counters with a slapping leg kick.
OH! Volker has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Drake smells blood and charges in for the finish! Drake unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Volker sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
