PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silverback Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is go coors!. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kong's choice of entrance music: Faint. King Kong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Silverback Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kong rushes Lesnar and presses him up against the cage.
Kong tries to score a body lock takedown but Lesnar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lesnar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kong.
Lesnar comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like King Kong has been cut.
Lesnar throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kong blocks it with crossed arms.

Kong has Lesnar pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kong pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lesnar tumbling to the mat - Kong dives into Lesnar's guard.
Lesnar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kong connects with a couple of short punches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kong is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lesnar is staying tight to Kong's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Kong dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Lesnar counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Lesnar throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kong on the side of the head.

Lesnar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Silverback Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Kong.
Lesnar Rushes Kong and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Kong is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Lesnar Piles on the pressure and Kong crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
