The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mongo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mongo lands a lovely overhand right.

Jenkins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mongo walks away with a smile on his face. Jenkins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mongo. Jenkins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jenkins dives in and grabs Mongo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mongo pushes down on Jenkins 's head and hops out.
Jenkins steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mongo. That one must have hurt.

and Jenkins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mongo lands a leg kick that knocks Jenkins off balance momentarily.
Jenkins throws the left hand but Mongo avoids the punch easily.

Mongo drives through and clinches with Jenkins against the cage.
Mongo lands an elbow inside.
Mongo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Jenkins fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mongo Mongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah Jenkins .
Jenkins jumps guard but Mongo stands there with Jenkins around his waist. Jenkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mongo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
