The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wood momentarily.
Wood tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ali manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ali blocks a head kick by Wood.
Wood jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ali works over Wood's head and body with a nice combination.
Ali lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ali swats away the attempt to clinch by Wood.
Wood moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

A head kick misses from Wood.

Ali fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wood looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Wood walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ali.

Wood takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wood takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ali throws a head kick that Wood semi-blocks.
Ali lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wood's sensitive parts.
An inside leg kick lands from Ali.
Ali works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ali lands with an uppercut that bounces Wood off the cage and back into rage.
Ali lands a nice shot to the body.
Wood takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ali lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ali scores with a nice right hand.

Wood is rocked!
Ali looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Ali backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Wood's temple! It sends Wood violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Ali celebrates and the doctors try to help Wood!
