Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushin Okami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yushin Okami is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushin Okami!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Okami is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Okami blocking the ground and pound attempt from Khan.
Okami wants to get back to his feet.
Khan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Okami looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Khan in particular looking to stall.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Khan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Genghis Khan wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Khan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Okami pulls his head out easily.

Okami really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Genghis Khan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Genghis Khan.

and Okami counters with a single leg into guard. Khan didn't expect that.

Khan scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Okami shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khan pinned against the cage. Khan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Okami fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khan wants to pass the guard but Okami is keeping the position.
Khan controlling from the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan wants to control from the top but Okami keeps moving.

A close round but Yushin Okami will probably get the nod.

Okami is looking to clinch but Khan is avoiding it.

and Okami counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Okami is thwarting Khan's attempts to control the position.
Khan is pressing down on Okami's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Khan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Khan pushes Okami off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Okami lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Khan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Khan is staying active underneath Okami, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Khan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Okami's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Okami's back!

Khan slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Okami is trying to remain composed but Khan is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Khan is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Okami has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
