Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parak Parcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cain Velasquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Parak Parcon!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velasquez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Parcon has eaten all the pies!

Velasquez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Parcon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sloppy strikes there by Velasquez.
Parcon throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Velasquez decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Parcon wants to control for a moment but Velasquez uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Velasquez is staying active underneath Parcon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Parcon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Velasquez's head.
Parcon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velasquez keeps working.

Parcon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Parcon is trying to control the action in half guard but Velasquez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Velasquez is not content to let Parcon control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Parcon wants to work for an arm triangle but Velasquez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Parcon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velasquez keeps working.
Velasquez is doing well to control the position and prevent Parcon from advancing to side control.
Velasquez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Parak Parcon wasn't active enough on the ground.
Velasquez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Velasquez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Parcon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Velasquez's guard.

Parcon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Parcon looks for a takedown but Velasquez sprawls well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Velasquez lands a nice short elbow.
Velasquez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Velasquez tries to stand and escape but Parcon is controlling the position.

Parcon regains full guard. Nicely done.
Velasquez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Velasquez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Parcon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Velasquez is not content to let Parcon control the position.
Parcon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Velasquez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that cain Velasquez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Parak Parcon.
Parcon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Velasquez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Parcon can't fight it off and eventually Velasquez manages to take the fight to the floor. Parcon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Parcon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Velasquez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
