The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem digs a good hook to Lombard's body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lombard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Overeem lands a glancing blow to the side of Lombard's head.
Overeem misses with a kick to the body.
Overeem misses with a right hand
and Lombard counters with a slapping leg kick.
Overeem tries to bum rush Lombard with a series of wild strikes but Lombard uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Overeem takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Overeem throws a head kick that misses.

Overeem misses with a looping right.
Lombard connects with a right hand. Overeem shakes it off.
Overeem slips under a jab.
Lombard scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Lombard turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Overeem bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lombard cracks Overeem with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the ropes! Overeem falls to his knees and Lombard doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
