Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Colin Kark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kark comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Awesome. Tyson Brown is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Colin Kark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Brown!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kark scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Brown is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kark's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brown on the ground.
Brown gets back to full guard.
Kark cracks Brown with a solid left hand.

Brown is looking for a triangle but Kark pushes his legs off easily.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brown is pulling down on Kark's head. It's preventing any offense from Kark, at least for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kark drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Kark off! Kark jumps back into Brown's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kark connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Brown throws a looping overhand right but Kark ducks down to avoid it.

and Kark counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kark throws out a loose jab but Brown uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kark scores with a nice body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kark throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brown tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kark is in Brown's guard.

Kark seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kark winds up and cracks Brown with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kark lands a nice short elbow.

Kark lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Brown is trying to maintain the position but Kark is very close to passing his half guard.

Brown is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kark pulls his head out easily.
Kark is trying to control the action in half guard but Brown is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Brown is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kark lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kark landing strikes, looking to finish!
Kark lands a big shot there that rocks Brown but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kark cracks Brown with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kark fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Brown is looking to get to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kark cracks Brown with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kark scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Brown wants to hold on but Kark pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colin Kark dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kark leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brown walks into a straight right hand from Kark.
Brown takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Brown needs to keep his hands up - Kark had a free shot at his head there.
Kark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away.
Brown fails to land the takedown.
Kark looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kark. Brown shrugs it off though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kark throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Brown tumbling to the canvas!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kark lands a nice short elbow.

Kark slips a nice elbow through Brown's hands, connecting with Brown's forehead.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kark connects with a nice short shot to Brown's temple.
Brown is refusing to be controlled, as Kark sits in half guard.
Kark not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kark thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Brown is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kark scores with a couple of nice shots.

Donk. Kark catches Brown right on the button with a cross.
Kark looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kark as he avoids it easily.
Kark lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kark misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brown.

Brown is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kark wants to improve his position but instead Brown has moved into half guard.
Kark tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg.
Colin Kark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kark is looking to get back to full guard here but Brown has managed to pass to side control instead.
Kark is looking for a sweep.

Brown looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kark can't do much from the bottom here.
Kark is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Brown is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kark to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kark shrugs it off.
Kark is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kark tries to hold on but Brown pushes him away.
Brown takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Brown is working for a guillotine from mount but Kark frees his head quite easily.
Brown trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kark defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Brown.
Brown takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brown moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kark has worked his arm free - good work by Kark!
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kark keeps working.
Kark is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brown tries for a kimura but Kark is defending well.

Brown swings around for an armbar but Kark sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brown's guard.
Tyson Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kark working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kark with a flurry of punches that miss.

Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kark can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kark keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brown's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kark wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.
Kark has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Colin Kark.
Well Kark has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
