The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor shoots in and drives through. Cooper sprawls well.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Taylor .
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Taylor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cooper, who protects the arm well.

Taylor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cooper is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Taylor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Taylor trying to control the position but Cooper is working away.
Cooper regains half guard.
Taylor is keen to just control but Cooper is a slippery customer.

Cooper tries to roll over but Taylor keeps him under control.

Taylor is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cooper defends it well.

Cooper is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Taylor pulls his head out easily.
Cooper is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Taylor 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Taylor 's back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taylor is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Cooper has got his arm under Taylor 's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Taylor has spun round into Cooper's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Taylor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cooper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cooper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taylor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taylor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cooper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taylor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Taylor winds up and cracks Cooper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taylor turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Taylor manages to end up in side control.

Taylor is looking to take a break and control but Cooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Taylor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cooper has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Taylor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cooper has tightened it up now! Taylor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
