Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Charillos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Michinoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Michinoku's choice of entrance music: Yamato Suite Four. Alex Charillos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenta Michinoku!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michinoku throws a jab when Charillos was well out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Charillos shoots in looking for a takedown. Michinoku tries to sprawl out of it but Charillos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Michinoku manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Michinoku manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Charillos is looking to improve his position but Michinoku isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Charillos misses with a body shot.
Charillos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Michinoku.

Charillos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Charillos showed some decent athleticism there.

Charillos seems to be looking for submissions.
Michinoku is looking to improve his position.
Michinoku slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Charillos wanted to stand there but Michinoku had control of the position.
Michinoku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Charillos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Michinoku escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Charillos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Michinoku is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Michinoku can't keep his opponent in guard - Charillos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Michinoku is not content to let Charillos control the position.
Michinoku wants to improve his position but Charillos is controlling well.

Charillos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Michinoku has managed to free his arm - good work.
Charillos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Michinoku does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Charillos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Michinoku fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Charillos.

Michinoku closes the distance and clinches.
Michinoku swings wildly with an uppercut but Charillos uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Charillos is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Charillos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Michinoku as he jumps to the side.

Kenta Michinoku comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Michinoku has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
