Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Yamaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuki Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaru comes to the cage accompanied by Rising. Yuki Nakai has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaru misses with a few strikes there.

Yamaru shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nakai gets back to half guard.

Yamaru is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Yamaru knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakai on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nakai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yamaru's guard.

Nakai throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Yamaru because Nakai loaded up on that one.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nakai is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Yamaru has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Yamaru closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nakai's guard.

Yamaru stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakai swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nakai pulls Yamaru in close to his closed guard and prevents Yamaru from doing any damage or advancing position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nakai throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yamaru was covering up waiting for the punch and Nakai finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nakai slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Yamaru has his foot on Nakai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakai works his way back into a safe position though.
Yuki Nakai has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nakai slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Nakai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nakai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nakai is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Yamaru looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nakai gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Yamaru is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nakai lets go of the hold and Yamaru can pop his arm back in it's socket.
