Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ridge Coldren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Miguel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miguel has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Ridge Coldren has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ridge Coldren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Miguel! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coldren. Miguel looks gassed! Miguel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Coldren shoots for a double leg takedown but Miguel sprawls well. He's pushed Coldren's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Coldren clinches. Coldren tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ridge Coldren. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coldren lands a right hand. Coldren is stalling here.
Coldren jumps guard and drags Miguel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miguel preventing the sweep. Miguel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Coldren looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Coldren pulls Miguel in close to prevent any damage. Coldren lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miguel!
That's one minute gone in the round. Coldren is landing with some decent strikes but Miguel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Coldren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Miguel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coldren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Coldren will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coldren lands a big elbow. Coldren controlling the pace for now. Coldren sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Coldren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poor strikes thrown by Coldren there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Coldren tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Coldren lands with some strikes. Coldren throwing strikes here but Miguel is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coldren is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Miguel is in real trouble.
Miguel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Coldren has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Miguel's body.
Coldren has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Miguel. Coldren is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coldren shoots in but Miguel avoids the takedown attempt easily. Coldren closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Coldren controlling the position from side mount. Coldren working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Coldren is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Miguel's shoulder. That is not cool. Miguel is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coldren stands up and we're back to a striking position. Coldren gets the takedown into side control. Coldren decides to stand back up. A solid leg kick lands there for Coldren.
Coldren closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Miguel's guard. Coldren stands and steps away. Miguel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miguel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Coldren misses with a few strikes there.
Coldren fails to land the takedown. Coldren shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miguel sprawls well. Miguel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Coldren gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ridge Coldren. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miguel misses with an uppercut. Miguel takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Miguel takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Coldren shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Coldren is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A telegraphed right hand from Miguel misses the target. Miguel misses with a shot to the body and Coldren counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Miguel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coldren tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miguel just stands there and leans against the cage. Miguel tries to land knees in the clinch but Coldren avoids the damage to the body. Miguel is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Coldren on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Miguel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Coldren decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Coldren throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Coldren is looking to take a break and control but Miguel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ridge Coldren just wasn't active enough. Miguel throws a front kick aimed at Coldren's knee but Coldren avoids it well. Coldren fails with a takedown attempt. Coldren clinches with his opponent.
Coldren looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Miguel lands a knee to the body.
Miguel wants to stall.
Miguel is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Coldren is defending well for now. Coldren tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miguel just stands there and leans against the cage. Coldren working hard to break the clinch. Miguel is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miguel tries a knee to the head but Coldren blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ridge Coldren dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Coldren shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miguel defends it nicely. Coldren scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Coldren controlling the pace. Coldren stands up and beckons Miguel to join him on the feet. Coldren fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Miguel avoids it really well and circles away. Phil Miguel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miguel thuds his shin into the meat of Coldren's side. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coldren closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coldren lands in his opponent's guard. Miguel keeping full guard, as Coldren tries to pass. Coldren postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Coldren passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Coldren seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Coldren taking a breather here. Coldren advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
And that's the end of the fight! Ridge Coldren showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coldren, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
