PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boris Magerramov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magerramov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Olson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Magerramov is looking to take a break and control but Olson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Olson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Magerramov stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Olson swats away the attempt to clinch by Magerramov.
Magerramov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Olson's waist but Olson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magerramov off to one side.

Magerramov gets control of Olson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Magerramov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Magerramov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Magerramov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Olson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Magerramov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Olson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Magerramov eats them both and turns towards Olson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Olson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Magerramov!

Olson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magerramov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dean Olson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Olson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
