PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Wispe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wispe might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Me Against The World. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Wispe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wispe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wispe tries a head kick but it misses.
Hardy shoots in looking for a takedown. Wispe tries to sprawl out of it but Hardy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wispe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wispe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wispe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hardy counters with a nice uppercut.
Hardy slaps away a takedown attempt from Wispe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Hardy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hardy.
Hardy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wispe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wispe plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wispe tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hardy is able to avoid easily.
Wispe misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hardy scores with a nice strike.
Hardy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wispe momentarily.
Wispe cracks Hardy with a good jab.
Wispe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Wispe is rocked!
Wispe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hardy circles away.
Oh Wispe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hardy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wispe doesn't seem bothered though.
Wispe seems to have got his legs back now.
Hardy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Hardy slaps away a takedown attempt from Wispe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Wispe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wispe is breathing heavily.
Hardy scores with a one two! Wispe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

The crowd cheers as Hardy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wispe doesn't seem phased though.
Hardy gets in close and tags Wispe with a short punch that almost sends Wispe to the mat! Oh Wispe is in big trouble! He turns his back on Hardy, trying to create some distance but Hardy rushes him, striking wildly and Wispe goes down! The referee tackles Hardy into the cage to end the fight! Hardy is one violent man!
